So let’s talk about the officiant or minister you select to conduct the ceremony that unites the two of you as husband and wife in holy matrimony. Choosing an officiant is a consideration of being comfortable with a person. In the preliminary meeting with the officiant, the couple should project how the person will look conducting the ceremony or what he or she will sound like. Is there a bit of humor and softness in his or her manner? Will the officiant be stiff and formal or will the person be engaging and gracious? Do you feel a kinship with this person in terms of values and beliefs? Are you comfortable with the ceremony he or she has sketched out?
